SMART CITY APP
A concept application for tracking all transport partaken in a smart city by residents and visitors. The idea of a physical card is replaced with scanning a QR code on the phone for identification.
All the travel is located here for the user. Every check in and check out is shown, with their affect on the balance of the account of the user.
Tapping an item allows the user to see more information for that trip.
The functionality to scan new QR codes and show the user’s identification QR code are also located here for quick usage and placed at the end of the screen for easy access by the thumb.
Upon clicking an item in the timeline, this is the details screen shown. The user has access to all the information needed by transportation support services if a problem may arise in terms of payment/ fines.
The idea for the reader is that certain small stations in the city may not have a QR scanner available due to power outage / lighting / other logistical projects, this would be remedied by the fact that some stations would have a QR code at the stop itself that could be scanned by the users and still check them in for that ride.
One of the powerful ideas in this concept is that a user can bind different services to the one ID.
For example, a user can have their bank card, library card, transport card bound to them, so the unique QR code for themselves would be able to be used by that service instead of 3 unique pieces of identification.
